Trash pickup and recycling
Curbside trash, recycling, yard waste, and bulk item pickup through the City's contract with Republic Services.
Overview
Republic Services handles all residential trash and recycling collection in Ballwin under a citywide contract. Recycling is single-stream: no sorting required. Up to two bulk items are collected free on the last pickup day of each month by appointment. Call Republic Services at (636) 947-5959.
Before you begin

Determine your collection day using the Republic Services schedule tool at republicservices.com.

Place your trash cart at the curb by 6 AM on your scheduled pickup day with the lid securely closed.

Recycle paper, flattened cardboard, plastic bottles and containers, glass bottles and jars, and metal cans. No plastic bags or styrofoam.

For bulk item pickup (up to 2 items free per month), call Republic Services at (636) 947-5959.

For yard waste, use 30-gallon paper bags or labeled containers under 75 lbs.

Frequently asked questions
What can I put in my recycling cart?
Paper, flattened cardboard, plastic bottles and containers, glass bottles and jars, and metal cans. Do not include plastic bags, styrofoam, or food waste.
What happens on holidays?
No collection on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. Pickup shifts to the following day.
