Online permit and license portal

MyGov online portal

The City of Ballwin uses MyGov, an online permitting and licensing platform that allows residents, contractors, and business owners to submit applications and pay fees without visiting the Government Center. Access the portal at public.mygov.us/ballwin_mo.

Contractor requirements

Effective November 1, 2025, all contractor and permit applications must be submitted through MyGov. New users should create a collaborator account at the portal, request access for City of Ballwin (approval is almost instant), select the green '+ Make New Request' button, complete the required fields, and submit. Once approved, contractors receive an invoice via email. After payment, credentials are issued to pull permits.

Available residential permits

Plumbing permits (backflow preventers, remodels, repairs, water heaters, new construction), electrical permits (single and multi-family), and mechanical permits (single-family residences) can all be submitted online through the portal.

Business license renewals

The 2026 business license renewal period is open through MyGov. Contact Kathy Papp at the Administration office for questions about the renewal process.

Coming soon

Occupancy inspections for single-family residences, apartments, and condos will soon be requestable through the online portal.

What's not available online

Commercial permits still require in-person processing at the Government Center. For inspection scheduling, call (636) 227-2129 during business hours.
